Recruitment of Associate Lay Member for patient and public engagement – Newham

North East London CCG

Two sessions of four hours per week, 48 weeks per year, at £300 per session

The new North East London CCG is committed to ensuring that local residents are fully involved in its work with health and care partners in each borough. It is also committed to making sure that its work acknowledges and reflects the wider context of the challenge of improving the wellbeing of all local residents. This includes tackling the particular local challenges that have become more evident through the coronavirus pandemic.

We are therefore looking for an associate lay member for Newham to champion the diverse voices of all local people as we continue to build an effective and sustainable local health and care system. The role will work across the CCG and all of its partners, including NHS providers, councils, and the voluntary and community sector.

The associate lay member will be a key part of the health and care leadership team in the borough, driving innovative and creative forms of engagement as well as bringing the latest thinking on how to improve equality, sustainability, and social value. We are looking for people with experience across all of these areas, along with a passion for improving local health and wellbeing outcomes.

The development of the role is part of the changes in how the NHS works with its residents and partners. The NHS in Newham will be working more closely together from 1 April 2021 as part of a broader coming together under the newly formed North East London CCG. Lay members have been appointed at a central level for North East London as part of the new CCG governance. The associate lay member will work at a borough level to create local impact.
