Made in Hackney is proud to share a programme of upcoming free cookery classes – both in-person and online – in January and February 2022. There is only one class that will cost £5. Donations are welcomed.

Gluten Free Bread Making (in person)

Join talented Hackney-based home baker Fredericka (Freddie) to learn how to bake your own rice & tapioca gluten free ‘no-knead’ loaf to take home. While your bread is rising Freddie will lead you through a short relaxing breathing exercise. You’ll also make a Tumeric & Ginger Oat Milk drink and enjoy a warming soup with freshly baked bread.
Vegan Haggis – Burns Night Special (online)

Join Scottish-Indian chef Sareta Puri for a Burns Supper. You’ll make a warming plant based haggis served with the traditional neeps ‘n’ tatties, learn about the traditions of Burns Night and you might even hear some poetry too!
Plant Based Pancakes (in person)

Join French cookery teacher Cecile to learn how to make delicious sweet and savoury plant based crepes and pancakes with a variety of fillings.
Brazilian Carnival Street Food (in person)

Join chef Vivianne Pontes to learn how to make a delicious Brazilian street food menu from her native country including Feijoada, a black bean stew served with traditional Pão de Beijo – ‘kiss bread’ – , a coconut tapioca dessert and hibiscus juice.
Zero Waste – Feed 4 for £5 (in person)

Join dietitian Hannah to learn how to create nutritious and tasty recipes to feed a family of 4 for £5. You’ll learn how to use the whole vegetable, including the parts which are often wasted – both helping the planet and your pocket. You’ll also learn about surplus food and take home some free surplus fruit & veg!
